Full Participation
Casual Cuisine is a new class Chef Judy will be teaching twice a month on Tuesday nights. The menu will focus on easy weeknight meals that are full of flavor but don’t take hours to prepare. Each class you will learn basic knife skills, cooking techniques, and tricks of the trade to make cooking fun and easy. Most classes will be full participation, but there might be come exceptions due to time constraints. We hope you will join us for a fun night out with friends and maybe even leave class with new ones!
Tonight you will learn how to sear chicken to get a nice caramelization on top. Learn the Maillard Reaction in a cast iron pan.
We’re going to use Crème fraîche for the sauce, along with two types of mustard for tang.
There will be some knife skills with cutting carrots & onions into uniform sizes before being roasted, then topped with lemon juice and orange zest.
Our store sells imported Italian pasta brand Filotea, which we will use in class!
We will also make Rum Raisin Apple Strudel. You’ll learn how to use Phyllo dough properly to make an easy dessert with apples, rum and ingredients you have in your kitchen. Top with whipped cream!
A glass of wine will be served with dinner.
Coffee, water and tea are complimentary. Participants receive 10% off all in store purchases during the class!
